Another lovely day in the sunshine......It was of coarse Mothers Day today and i got what i wanted..a day out of the house..all day!!!! First we went to the car boot sale which we haven't done for about 5 years and then to Bicton Park for a picnic and a lay in the sun session. We then finished it all off with chips on Budleigh Beach, simply perfect.

I know it has been a while since i last blogged, it is all down to my new phone. I got this new phone with a good camera but neither me or Steve can figure out how to get the pics onto the computer yet so I have had to take some rubbish ones with the old one.
I haven't been doing alot of sewing lately because it has been so lovely outside. We have done some major work in the yard and i have even learnt how to use the precious power tools. Yes some of those boxes i actually put together!!!! There is still loads to do but it is a huge improvement...

My latest obsession is making summer clothes for the kids..and as usual if it is the obsession of the moment then their are loads being churned out. I wanted to make some light trousers for the boys that are really comfy. I also find in the summer they are out in the dirt even more so long and light trousers are great for keeping the knees clean. The trick with these clothes is keeping them from looking like night clothes. But i have noticed Boden do some check trousers for boys that could be taken for night clothes so that's good enough for me.

My journey with the sewing pattern is getting better and better. I bought a pattern a while ago for an Amy Butler bag...and yes i put off making it for that time because of my pattern phobia. The finished bag is good but i will make some changes when i next make it. If you are making a bag with stiff interfacing it is very tricky to get it perfect. I would recomend adding it in at the end. Dispite that i will be useing this bag because i love it regardless of its imperfection's.
