Something I have been wanting to do for a while is frame fabric. I tried it in picture frames but It just didn't look right. But this is a huge improvement and I love It. Here are two Amy Butler and one Rowan. Yet again this is an appalling photo, sorry about that.

What an amazing day !! I went to the "vintage and handmade" festival in Chipping Sodbury. It was truly a glorious day. Not only outside but inside the town hall as well. I was lucky enough to meet some fellow bloggers I have been following for a while and a few new one's. Amazingly I met a lady from a neighbouring village. Its a shame I had to travel all that way to bump into her, her kids also go to the same school as mine. The hall was full of different stands and I am sorry I didn't have more cash to spend. The best part of it was meeting other crafters as it always is. This was just the start of the fair there was another whole room next door.

yeh... more progress...

So yet another mile stone for me was making something for Israel. This is an achievement on two levels, one being I found a pattern she liked and a fabric too. I am so pleased how this tunic top turned out and am rearing to go with the next one. It was so simple and It looks perfect on her.

Our Mopsy( my mum) bought a gorgeous dress for my Florence recently and It Is a perfect fit. The dresses available for girls right now are so beautiful and sometimes I don't think It Is worth making your own except that I love to do It.

At last

Can you believe our luck.....Clothkits has finally restarted and revamped. Not only have they updated their look very well but kept some very nostalgic oldies like kit and kitty. My mum still has these doll's in her toy basket with a few of the clothes to match. I really love the new stuff they are providing now ,they have cleverly kept the concept but pushed the patterns into today. Their designs remind me a little of the way Ikea design their fabric. Take a look at the site and just try and stop yourself ordering one of those cute doll's.

it's a first..

For the first time I ordered fabric from ebay this week. I wanted some special pieces to add to my girls dresses I shall be making. I am afraid though that these two pieces might be too nice and have to stay with me for a while. I know I have seperation anxiety with gorgeous fabric so more councelling required I suppose. But all the same It was exciting to recieve them In the post and more are on the way....hurraaa!

Gifts from across the pond...

My sister Abigail has recently done the sweetest thing and had amazon send me a few books. They are just the cutest stories. I have to confess I rarely spend money on books, It has never been a priority of mine. I have only just started to buy books for myself for a local book club. Yes I know this puts me very low on the "worlds greatest mum" list. I shall have to review my priorities.............. just as soon as I have bought all the fabric I like. Anyhow If you are a book buyer, take a look at these.

right now...

I am loving the two new jug's I bought from T K Max....

They both look like they have been sitting around a junk shop for a while and not at all new so I am very pleased. Still waiting for Steve to put up the shelf in the kitchen so I can display all these goodies.

Planning ahead

I have decided to participate in the local street market in August. Silverton Street Market is a very busy and friendly market and I am really looking forward to it. I have started on some new designs for my apron's and will probably make some girls clothes too. Here is a peek into some of my apron's

and "no" they are not just made for skinny 13 year old's !!

Sweet Bliss

Today was a dream day. I set off this morning for north Devon to Donna Flower who is The sun was shining, the car was peaceful and i was on my way to fabric delight. She did not disappoint at all. The whole downstairs was full of vintage fabrics and clothes. The beautiful farmhouse kitchen was laid with lovely china and home baked cakes. I met some interesting people and the conversation flowed. I think for me that was the best part of the day meeting like minded people who were in love with fabric and creating..It was the first time I had met a fellow blogger and i have to admit I was rather excited.

This is Donna who hosted and ran the show.

This is the dress I bought.

I have been busy sewing clothes for Florence for the summer this past week. I haven't bought any new fabric, just made out of what I have which is very satisfying. I have used a pattern that is for a dress and made it short enough for a top and It works very well.
